Drastic Fantastic KT Tunstall

ScotlandLady Tanstel Katie (KT Tunstall) began his career five years ago-session vocalist in the group Oi Va Voi. This exotic formation dashing confused trip-hop, folk-rock and klezmer, and has made amateur neformal etnic relatively high status, but the image of a girl with a guitar Katie attracted much more than the glory of the performer world music. In 2004 - KT Tunstall has released first solo disc and immediately “frustrated Bank”: third place in landscape chart British prize Brit Awards and Grammy nomination for the Mercury, and, not to mention the enthusiastic reviews of such stars as The Cure.
Miss Tanstall plays an honest woman mainstream rock, introduced in the form “alternative”, in the role of gentle and sad folk lady. Her music brings a lot of associations, and most of those treath goes deep into the nineties, which suddenly everywhere put new spiral of musical retro-helix. “Drastic Fantastic” (the second studio album the singer) and MFPL ghosts gone decade. And if in those moments when Katie into the acoustic sadness, rather Regina Spektor mind (Regina Spektor) or Katie Melua (Katie Melua) (chudnoe spelling his name “KT” Tanstall invented, it is to avoid unnecessary parallels with it), it is shotlandke fuzza added the guitar, as appears to us that most rock diva with a little old-fashioned guitar mirror that looks to the cover drive. She then hooligans as Meridit Brooks (Meredith Brooks) ( “I Don’t Want You Now”), then charms sincere with simple soul as She-ril Crowe (Sheryl Crow) ( “If Only”), then luring online gentle country - blues in the spirit of Beautiful South ( “Beauty Of Uncertainty”). But the most obvious parallels - of course, Alanis Mori-sett (Alanis Morissette). Katie sings more gently and the chamber, but also emotional, open and full of internal contradictions.
She was equally well and provides shocking ispove-range, vocal “nerves outwards”, as, say, from Shineyd O’Connor (Sinead O’Connor), and lightly maiden pop. Such abundance of association does not deprive our heroine identity - just sharped timbre and style of singing (roulade on high notes at first, even boxes) are not confused or with whom. But this diversity at the same time and for ?¬ vorazhivaet (many of the pop singers today bleschut diversity?) And slightly somebody go astray. There is a feeling that Katie is still in search of himself and two plates to drive out, finally, on its own track, but in the meantime, borrows and experimenting - take it too far, the frightened and retreat. So this freeminding dlady is perceived, as they say, heart - or take in all manifestations immediately, or reject and set aside.
